Khi đó, người ta trẻ, người ta điên cuồng, người ta khao khát đến ngây dại tự do và tình yêu. Người ta tin vào một điều gì đó mơ hồ huyễn hoặc nhưng to lớn.
Khi đó, người ta dễ xúc động vì hơi nóng của mùa hạ, vì vẻ rực rỡ của hoa hướng dương, vì sự choáng ngợp của đại dương bao la và những bình nguyên rộng mở.
Khi đó, người ta luôn muốn ra đi.
2. Có đôi lúc, gã nhớ tới những người tình đã đi qua trong đời, bỗng nhiên tưởng tiếc cái cảm giác đau đớn mà họ từng đem lại. Đối với gã, ký ức về hạnh phúc thật mờ nhạt, chỉ có nỗi đau mới có đủ sức mạnh để lưu dấu ấn, khiến gã thoả mãn. Như những vết sẹo trên da thịt, nhức nhối, hằn sâu, đau đớn là thứ làm mạnh mẽ thêm khoái cảm. Gã không chắc lắm. Nhưng giờ phút này, gã ước rằng có một ai đó xuất hiện, và lại khiến cơ thể gã rỉ máu như bị hàng triệu chiếc gai đâm xuyên qua, để gã lại thấy nỗi tuyệt vọng từ mùa đông xanh xám, lại biết sợ hãi những cơn mưa dầm dề cuối thu, hay chìm lấp trong cơn bi ai không lối thoát mỗi chiều hoàng hôn muộn mùa hè.
